Town of Urbana Records Access - Freedom of Information Law (F.O.I.L.)

"The Freedom of Information Law, effective January 1, 1978, reaffirms your right to know how your government operates. It provides rights of access to records of governmental decisions and policies that affect the lives of every New Yorker."

The Town of Urbana Supervisor, Town Board and Town Clerk strongly endorse the concept that the records maintained by the Town belong to the people.  If you require access to the Town's records, the Town Clerk will make every effort to fulfill your request in a timely manner.  For your convenience, minutes, agendas, and other commonly requested documents will be made available on this website.   Additional records can be obtained as follows:

 
Requests for specific documents that are readily available can be obtained from the Town Clerk's Office during regular business hours.  It is advisable to call first and indicate the documents that you need.  The cost is $.25/page. page.
 
Records that are maintained in digital format can be obtained, at no cost, via email.
A sample email request can be downloaded HERE.
 
Digital records can also be obtained on a CD at a cost of $5.00 per CD.
 
Records can be obtained via mail by downloading a FOIL Request Form and mailing it to:
Town of Urbana Clerk, PO Box 186, Hammondsport NY  14840.

Please note:  In an effort to provide you with documents in a timely manner, please be specific in describing that documents and records that you wish to obtain.  You are not required to state the reason for your request.
